How many car accidents happen in Utah per day?

I live in Utah and I saw two car crashes in one day! Out of curiosity, I was wondering how often this happens. What’s the average amount of car accidents each day in Utah?

Seeing a
car accident
, let alone being in one, is a scary event! To answer your question, Utah is relatively low on the list of accidents, despite having an average of 180 incidents a day.
According to the Utah Department of Health, a car accident happens about once every eight minutes in Utah. A car accident involving an injury happens about every 20 minutes or about 72 per day. Furthermore, the state experienced 248 fatal accidents in 2020. However, this ranks Utah as one of the safest states to drive in.
To protect yourself from accidents caused by you or another motorist, make sure you have the right coverage. In addition to personal injury protection coverage (as Utah is a no-fault state), you should also consider:
  • MedPay
  • Uninsured/underinsured motorist
By adding these to your existing policy, you can protect yourself against any injuries that leave you in the hospital or unable to work.
