How many 1971 Dodge Demons were made?
Recently, one of my friend’s dads told me about this classic 1971 Dart Demon he has, and it really sparked my interest to learn more. How many Dodge Demons were made in 1971?

In 1971,
Dodge
produced about 70,000 Dart Demons. With a 340 LA-series crankshaft engine (from which the Demon derives its name) and a sleek, low-rider frame, the Demon 340 was Dodge’s variant Chrysler and Plymouth models equipped with the same engine. Production of the Demon 340 began just one year prior, in 1970. At that time, Demons were sold for around $2,000—which is the modern-day equivalent of roughly $15,000 today. In the following year of its production (that is, 1972) even fewer Demons were produced, and sales dropped along with the production.
In 1973, the Demon was rebranded to the Dart Sport 340, although its name change did little to draw more buyers. The
muscle car
was discontinued entirely shortly thereafter. Today, the Demon 340 boasts a small but loyal cult following. You can come across 1971 Dodge Dart Demons at car shows and auctions, and, according to Classic’s statistics, the average cost of a second-hand Dodge Dart Demon 340 today is between $30,000 and $50,000.
