We’re sorry to hear that you were in an accident! Your car insurance company does not determine the time it will take to fix your car.
How long your car takes to fix depends on the mechanic and the severity of the damage and your mechanic’s availability. That being said, there are some things you can do on your end to speed up the claims process so repairs can get underway as quickly as possible:
Document the damage: Your insurance company needs thorough evidence to make an accurate settlement. Sending pictures, the police report, etc. to your insurance company (and not forcing them to request it), speeds up the process.
Make your claim in a timely manner: The faster you report your claim, the faster you will get your settlement to pay your mechanic.
Don’t lie or exaggerate: If your insurance company thinks you’re being dishonest about the severity of the damage, it could disrupt the settlement process. Being honest will lead to a faster claim-resolution time.
