My buddies and I are doing a cross-country road trip in a few weeks, and I was thinking of getting my windows tinted before we go. How long does it take to tint car windows?

It’s smart to prepare for your trip! Tinting your windows will keep the sun out of everyone’s eyes and protect them from UV rays. But how long it takes to tint car windows and let them cure depends on the season and weather.
The actual **tinting process can take between two and four hours **depending on:
- Number of windows
- Size of the windows
- Window shape
- Whether a previous tint needs to be removed
After the tint job is done, the curing time can vary wildly depending on environmental conditions: * In the summer, curing can take three to five days. In the winter, it can take two to five weeks.
- If you have a ceramic tint done, it can take four to 10 weeks to cure.
To help the tint cure quickly, here are some tips:
- Avoid getting your windows tinted in the winter or rainy season. Humidity can damage the tint job and increase curing time.
- Tints cure quickly in sunny weather with low humidity.** Park your car outdoors when it’s sunny **and indoors when it’s cold or rainy.
- Don’t roll down your windows for three or four days to avoid damaging the tint.
- Avoid the carwash until the tint has cured, as the humidity will impact drying time.
