How long is the Chevy factory warranty?

I’m comparing warranties for new vehicles. My father used to work for Chevy, so I’m leaning that way, but I want to make sure that the company stands behind its vehicles. What is the length of the Chevy factory warranty?

Brand loyalty is one thing, but making an informed choice about your car purchase is a good move—especially if you’re concerned about how long the warranty is! The Chevy factory warranty for all new vehicles is comprised of two parts:
  • The **3-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty, which covers bumper-to-bumper coverage on most components
  • The 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which covers the drivetrain, engine, transmission, and other components related to drivability
Note that both of the warranties don’t necessarily cover everything. They only protect against manufacturer defects, not against general wear and tear or maintenance.
