How long is a car inspection good for in Texas?

I recently moved to Texas, and I'm so confused by vehicle inspections. How long is an inspection good for here?

There are a lot of different rules surrounding car inspections in Texas, so it’s understandable that you’re confused! Most inspections in Texas are good for one year.
However, the initial inspection on a new car will be good for two years. Additionally, your car has to be inspected at most 90 days before your
registration
expires. When you register or renew your car’s registration, the DMV will collect the state portion of the inspection fee.
When you get your car inspected, you’ll be asked to provide proof of insurance. If you’re worried about your coverage level, or if you want to see if you can get a better deal on your car insurance, check out the
