How long does a first car service take?

What is a normal time for a first car service to take? I'm taking my car in for the first time and wondering if I should ask someone to pick me up or if I should just wait there.

Your first car service usually won’t take any longer than any other car service. So it will typically take around three hours. That might sound like a lot of time, but a standard car service includes:
  • An oil change
  • A tire rotation
  • An engine inspection
  • A cleaning for any dirty areas
If you feel like your mechanic is [taking too long with your car], you can ask them to walk you through the work. You’re the customer, so they should be transparent about their process. Plus, it might be helpful as a car owner to learn about common car problems and how to fix them!
