A trailer brake controller works by using the electricity from the towing vehicle (your truck, in this case) to help regulate the trailer’s brakes. They’re easy enough to install and use. Just follow these steps:
Park your truck and trailer on a level surface
Plug in the trailer wiring harness
Give the brake controller a few minutes to calibrate
Set the maximum brake output depending on the size of the load
Adjust the sensitivity level
