How does a Toyota warranty work?

I’m new to this whole warranty thing: I know that parts of my Toyota are covered by the basic warranty, but what if I have to make a claim? How does a Toyota warranty work?

Warranties can be tricky, especially if it’s your first time making a claim. Your
Toyota
warranty covers certain repairs or replacements, but you must contact Toyota first for pre-approval for your warranty to work properly.
Here’s a quick overview of how to make a claim with your Toyota warranty:
  • Your or your dealer must contact Toyota Financial Services for pre-approval before beginning repairs on a covered element
  • Keep all of your receipts throughout the repair process, including receipts for repairs, parts, lodging, food, travel, and other related costs
  • For reimbursement, mail the receipts to Agreement Administrator PO Box 9550 Cedar Rapids, IA 52409-9550
Of course, Toyota Financial Services will provide more details when you call for pre-approval, but hopefully, that gives you a general idea of what to expect!
Now that you know how to make a claim with your warranty, why not take a minute to update your insurance coverage? You won’t have to call around or fill in endless online forms when you use the
