How do you turn on the headlights in a Honda Civic?

I’m spending the week in Dallas for a business conference and have a Honda Civic as a rental vehicle. Overall, I enjoy driving the car, but I still don’t completely understand how to turn on the headlights. How do you use the headlights in a Honda Civic?

I’m happy to hear you are enjoying the
Honda Civic
, and I hope you enjoy your time in Dallas just as much!
To turn on the headlights in a Honda Civic:
  • Locate the headlight control switch on the end of the lever that extends out of the left side of the steering column. It is the same lever that controls your blinkers.
  • Twist the headlight control until it is on auto. When using this setting, your headlights will automatically turn on or off depending on the driving conditions.
  • Alternatively, you can use the low beam setting, which is indicated by a D-shaped symbol with downward-slanted lines extending from it. If using the low beam setting, don’t forget to position the headlight control switch to off when parking.
Note that purchasing
rental car insurance
is usually a good idea, but more often than not, your personal
car insurance
policy will extend coverage to your rental should something happen. If you regularly use rental vehicles, you should check with your insurance company to learn more about their rental policy.
While reviewing your plan, take an extra 45 seconds to ensure you aren’t overpaying for coverage.
