Congrats on the new car! One of the great features of a Tesla Model S
is the dashcam. Luckily, it’s fairly easy to start using it. To set up a Tesla dashcam, you’ll need a properly formatted USB. The easiest way to format your USB is to place it in the front console USB port. As long as your USB is at least 64 GB and has USB 2.0, your Model S should be able to format it for you.
If not, you’ll need to format your USB using your computer. It will require you to format it to an exFAT file and manually create a TeslaCam folder.
Once your formatted USB is in the front USB port, your dashcam will automatically enable and begin recording as you start driving. To customize your dashcam settings, you can go to Controls and Safety. You’ll have a few different options for your dashcam, depending on how you’d like it to function or when you’d like it to record.
While your dashcam is an important safety feature, having the right car insurance for your Tesla is just as important. To find the best coverage at the lowest price, use the Jerry
app. Once you download Jerry, answer a handful of questions that will take you roughly 45 seconds to complete and you’ll immediately get car insurance quotes for coverage similar to your current plan. Jerry customers save an average of $879 a year.
