How do you reset the SRS light on a 2001 Honda Accord?
Is there a way for me to reset the SRS light in my Accord without taking it to the shop? I just want it to go away but it’s not worth it to pay a bunch of money.

- Bend a paperclip into a U shape. Find the MES connector under the driver’s side dashboard on the left. It is yellow.
- Make sure that your ignition is off. Perform the following steps rapidly. Do not wait more than 4 seconds to proceed to the next step.
- Holding onto the bottom of the U, insert the paperclip into the connector. (The paperclip has two tips, and the connector has two holes.)
- Keeping the paperclip in place, turn the ignition to the ON position.
- The SRS light will go off after a few seconds.
- Take the paperclip out. The light will come back on.
- Put the paperclip back in. The light will go off again.
- Take the paperclip out again. The SRS light should flash twice.
- Turn the ignition off. Wait several seconds.
- Start your car. The SRS light should come on briefly, then go off and stay off.
If your light comes on again, you should
visit a mechanic
