How do you report someone's false car insurance claim?
Someone I don't know submitted a claim saying I hit them. It's not true and I don't want to be penalized for it. How do I report that the claim is false?

company. You may need to provide them with proof that you weren’t involved in an accident.Proof you may need to provide is:
- Photos of your car
- Proof of your location at the time of the accident
- Witness statements of anyone you were with at the time of the accident
With proof, your insurance company can
deny the claim
. If the driver pursues any further action, your insurance will defend you.Report the person to your state’s Department of Insurance or Department of Financial Services. Most states have a hotline or complaint form that you can fill out to report fraudulent claims or activity.
