How do you remove stuck spark plug wires?

Carbon build-up around the ends of your spark plugs can make them difficult to remove. Luckily, it can be done—and all you need is some WD-40 and a pair of pliers.
To remove stuck spark plug wires, follow these steps:
- Start by lubricating the edge of the spark plug wire with some WD-40. Specifically, you’ll want to spay along the edges where the plug wire and the valve cover or distributor cap meet (depending on which end of the wire is stuck).
- Use a pair of pliers to hold and twist the plug end back and forth. Most auto shops carry pliers especially made for spark-plug removal.
- Firmly pull up on the pliers as you twist the plug back and forth until it pops free.
