How do you remove saltwater stains from your car seats?
We were bringing home a pet fish for my son yesterday and spilled some of the water from the tank on our car seats. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue, but the water was saltwater. How do I remove the stain it left behind?

Accidents happen, but like the salt used in winter, saltwater is a secret seat stainer! Luckily, removing the stain isn’t too hard. Follow these steps and you should be fine:
- Vaccum the stained area well to remove any salt residue
- Re-saturate the stained area with warm water
- Use a towel to soak up the water
- Repeat until the area is mostly dry
- If you can still see the white salt residue, repeat step one
- Finally, pour equal parts vinegar and water into a spray bottle
- Spray the stain generously and let it sit
- Use a clean towel to blot up the vinegar and water solution
- Do one final rinse with water
From there, your seats should be good as new!
