, you can visit Toyota’s website and use their VIN decoder tool. If you’d rather decode the VIN yourself, here’s what you need to know:
The first three numbers represent the make, model, and manufacturer.
The next digit represents any safety features in your car.
The next four digits provide information about the trim level or series, plus the engine and/or the transmission.
The next digit is used to verify the VIN and is determined by the other letters and numbers in the VIN.
The next digit represents the model year of your vehicle.
Toyota uses the final six digits to identify the vehicle internally.
It should be noted that the VIN will not include the letters I, O, Q, or U, as they are too easily confused with other letters and numbers. Again, to learn more, you can visit toyota.com.
