How do you put a flag on your truck?

I drive a truck and as a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I want to fly the rainbow flag from my truck bed. I know if it’s not properly mounted the flag pole could snap when I’m driving. How do I put a flag on my truck?

You are absolutely right – if a flag is not properly installed the pole may break when you drive at top speeds. You can put a flag on your truck and show your pride by following these steps:
  • Purchase the flag, flag pole, and pole mount. You’ll need a stronger mount and pole if you plan on driving with your flag on display.
  • Line up the pole mount. Locating the pole mount closer to the cab of the truck will give your flag extra support while driving at top speeds.
  • Install the pole mount. You can either drill holes and bolt the mount into place or spot weld the mount to the bed of the truck.
  • Insert the flagpole into the pole mount. Depending on whether your pole mount has a set screw, you may have to drill a 1/4-inch hole through the mount and flagpole before sliding the latch pin or tightening the screw into place.
  • Mount the flag.
