How do you program a BMW X5 key fob?

I just got a new fob because my son ran over my old one, but I’m not sure how to pair it with my car. How do I program a BMW X5 car remote?

It’s great that you already have a new remote ready to go! To program a
BMW X5
 key fob, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  • Put your key in the ignition and turn it to the ACC position.
  • Turn your ignition back to the OFF position, then press and hold the Unlock button on your new key fob.
  • With the Unlock button still pressed, push the Lock button on your key three times in quick succession.
  • The car doors should unlock, indicating your new key is programmed. Make sure to check your key fob when you’re done so that you know it’s working properly!
