How do you open the gas tank on a 2015 Toyota Sienna?
How do you open the gas tank on a 2015 Toyota Sienna? The door doesn’t pop open when I press on it, but I also don’t see a button for it inside the car.
Locate the fuel door release lever. You’ll find it to the left, below your steering wheel, and above your emergency brake. The lever will have a fuel pump symbol—pull it toward you to release the fuel door.
Once you pull the lever, you should hear your fuel door pop open. From here, you can just unscrew your gas tank cap, place it inside the fuel door holder, and start refueling.
After you’ve filled your tank, you can screw the gas tank cap back on until you hear a click, then press the fuel door closed until it latches.
If your fuel filler door won’t budge despite pulling the release lever, it may be stuck shut for some reason. In the cargo area, behind a panel on the side of the Sienna that the fuel door is on, you should find another manual fuel door release lever.
If you can’t get it open yourself, it might be worth enlisting a mechanic’s help to avoid damaging the door or other parts of your Sienna.
