Unlock the vehicle, which should also unlock the fuel door
At the fuel filler door, press in on the outer edge of the door, and it should release.
Once the door is open, unscrew the fuel filler cap. The inside of the fuel door has a bracket where you can place the cap while you’re refueling
After you’ve finished filling up the tank, replace the cap and press in on the door until it’s securely latched
If you’re having trouble getting the fuel door to open on its own, there’s a manual release in the trunk area. You’ll find it behind a panel near where the fuel filler door would be.
Remove the panel, pull on the knob with the fuel pump symbol, and the fuel filler door should release its locking mechanism.
If you’re still having trouble with the fuel door, it’s possible there might be a problem with its locking mechanism that won’t let it open. To avoid the risk of damaging the door enlist the help of a trusted mechanic if you can’t gently maneuver it open yourself.
