Press down on the black button on the bottom right-hand corner of your key fob
Pull on the bottom of the key fob to release the physical metal key
With the metal key set aside, look for the “+” and “-” symbols on the bottom of your key fob
Using a small flathead screwdriver (or your finger, if you’ve got long and strong nails), pry off the back covering of the key fob by inserting it in between the “+” and “-” symbols.
And that should do it! Your BMW X3 key fob should now be open. If you think the battery is the issue, you can also use the same flathead screwdriver you used to open the fob to pop out the battery.
