—how exciting! If you want to physically measure the legroom in cars, you will need a tape measure. Here’s how to take each measurement:- Front-seat legroom: Measure from the footwell to the point where the backrest meets the seat bottom
- Driver’s legroom: Measure the distance from the heel of the driver’s accelerator foot to the backrest
- Rear legroom: Measure the distance between the rear and front backrests while keeping the front legroom at a standard 40 inches
