Extra legroom can be a big comfort when you drive, especially for taller folks. Luckily, you can modify your car seat slider rails to give yourself some extra space. Here are some of the best ways to make your car seat go back further:
- Search for car seat rail extender kits online. These will often include metal brackets that attach to the slide rails beneathyour seatand allow it to slide past the maximum default distance. On average, they’ll cost around $300.
- Improvise a seat rail and add it as an extension. All you’d need to do is buy seat rails from your same make and model and attach them to the rails in your car so the seat can move back further. That said, this option requires some elbow-grease and mechanical know-how.
