As a new driver, I’m having a hard time turning while driving. Either I turn too wide or too tight and it makes me nervous. How do you make proper turns?

Turning can be tricky when you first start driving, but you’ll definitely get a hang of it after more practice!
When you’re making a right turn, left turn, or U-turn, remember the following:
Signal and slow down (or brake): In residential areas, turn on your signal 100 feet before your turn. On the highway or rural areas, signal 200 feet before your turn. Slow down to a safe speed as you approach the turn
Scan the intersection: scan your turning path for pedestrians, other vehicles, or hazards
Hold-and-turn method for curves: if the turn is shallow, you can steer through the turn without your hands crossing each other
Hand-over-hand method for sharp turns: if the turn is sharp, the hand-over-hand method is the safest to maneuver your turn
Accelerate after completing turn: as your car is finishing its turn, accelerate steadily and loosen your grip slightly to allow the car to straighten out.
Your confidence in turning while driving will come as you get used to it. If you want to practice, pick a quiet neighborhood so you don’t get pressured into turning quickly by traffic.
