Pull the release under the dashboard to open the hood.
Locate the terminals in the engine designed to jumpstart your BMW. When you do this, you’ll see a red plastic cover with a + symbol on top of the positive terminal.
Connect your red (which is positive) jumper cable to the positive terminal.
Connect your black (which is negative) jumper cable to the negative terminal. This is located on the vehicle frame.
You’ll need to do the same on the other vehicle that is jumpstarting your car.
Turn on the ignition, but don’t start the engine. You’ll want to wait ten seconds to ensure your battery is charging.
Start the engine.
This should bring your BMW and battery back to life. If it doesn’t work, you may have to call a tow truck or replace your battery.
