A sleeper for your truck is a great way to save money on accommodation while you’re out on the road. Plus, installing one is perhaps a bit easier than you might anticipate.
Here are the steps you should take to install the sleeper:
Start by removing the rear truck window
Set the sleeper on the truck and make sure it’s centered
Get in the truck and trace the rear truck cab window onto the front of the sleeper
Install the accordion boot to the sleeper first using rubber cement or marine glue to hold the boot in place
Start the boot at the bottom left corner and go up over the top and down the right side
Put the rest across the bottom
Put down sponge tape or another type of cushion to protect your truck rails
Once protected, you can place the sleeper onto the truck rails as close as possible to the cab
Install the rubber boot to the truck’s rear cab window opening
Use the same technique and glue on the boot part that attaches to the truck rear cab window frame
After the boot is attached, slide the sleeper back into position
Bolt it into place
Once bolted, apply silicone to the outside of the boot to ensure it’s weatherproofed and sealed
