“I’m sorry to hear this happened! Thankfully, you have options to remove the tire shine.
First, try using Citrol. You can purchase it at most auto body shops or Home Depot. It can remove things like
bugs, tar, and paint transfer
, but you have to make sure not to let it dry on the paint.
If you want to using a gentler cleansing method, use an all-purpose cleaner or rubbing alcohol.
Should those not work, call the car wash. They may have a suggestion for how to remove the tire shine.
You can also go to an auto body repair shop. They may be able to buff out the tire shine and touch up the paint if necessary.
If you decide to go with this option, be sure to
request quotes from different shops
. Rates vary between shops, so shopping around ensures you’re getting the best price.
While you’re shopping around for auto repair shops, consider doing the same for your car insurance! Comparison shopping every six months is a great way to continually save on your insurance.
