How do you fix a crease dent in a car?

When I went to bring my kids to school the other day, I noticed a small crease dent in the side of my car. I have no idea how it happened. Is there a way to fix a crease dent in my car?

Discovering a dent in your vehicle and not knowing the cause can be frustrating! Fortunately, removing a crease dent isn’t too difficult, but you will have to remove the dented panel.
To fix a crease dent in a car, you’ll need:
  • A screwdriver or appropriate tools to remove the dented panel
  • A knockdown dent shaping tool
Once you have your tools, you should:
  1. Remove the dented panel and place it on a clean table or workspace. Typically, you can remove auto body panels by reaching behind the panel and undoing the screws, bolts, or fasteners attaching it.
  2. Place the head of your knockdown dent shaping tool on the interior side of the panel in the center of the deepest part of the dent and press lightly until it will not budge anymore.
  3. Place the head of the knockdown tool behind the dent at the farthest end and lightly push against the dent until the crease starts coming out. Using this method, work down the length of the dent until it returns to its original position.
  4. Scan the exterior of the panel for any areas pushed too far out, and use the knockdown tool to tap them back into place lightly.
  5. Reinstall the panel.
