These AC recharge kits don’t always do a great job explaining the instructions, and given that nearly every engine bay has a different layout, it’s perfectly understandable to run into trouble finding certain engine components.
Here’s the short answer: in most cars (but not all), you’ll find the low pressure fill port on the left (passenger) side of the engine. You’ll usually see two A/C lines near or beside one another. The low pressure line is the smaller of the two lines, and likely labeled. The port itself is usually on a small metal tube with rubber hoses connected to either end of it.
If you’re having trouble finding it, you might want to see if you can find the compressor, which is connected to a serpentine belt on the front of the engine, up near the radiator. This has lines leading up to the evaporator, which is usually on the engine firewall up near the windshield. If you can follow these lines, you’ll find the low pressure fill port.
Hopefully, the rest of the instructions are easy to follow, and the process is generally straightforward. You simply attach the kit, use the provided gauge, and be sure to recharge the AC with the proper amount of pressure.
