Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all method for connecting via Bluetooth to a Chevy Suburban, as the process varies depending on the vehicle model year. To cover all our bases, we’ll provide the process for three different years: 2009, 2015, and 2022.
To connect via Bluetooth to an older model Chevy Suburban
, do the following: Press and hold the push-to-talk button for two seconds. The system will then say “Ready” followed by a tone
Say “Bluetooth” and wait for the system to say “Bluetooth ready,” followed by a tone
Say “Pair.” The system will then respond with a set of instructions and a 4-digit PIN
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Select “Pair a new device” or look under “Available devices” and find the device named “General Motors.” Select this device
Enter the 4-digit PIN from step 3. You will then be asked to provide a name for your phone, after which the system will start the pairing process
If done correctly, the system should then say “ has been successfully paired”
If you own a slightly newer model Chevy Suburban, around model year 2015, follow the instructions below to connect via Bluetooth:
From your vehicle’s Home Page, turn the “MENU” knob to access the “PHONE” screen button. Next, press the “MENU” knob to select the “PHONE” screen button
Press the button underneath the “PAIR” screen button. The system will then display a 4-digit PIN that you’ll need to enter later
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, and select “Pair a new device” or look under “Available devices” to find the device labeled “Your Vehicle.” Select this device
You will then be prompted to enter the 4-digit PIN from step 2. In some instances, a 6-digit code will be displayed on both your phone and the vehicle screen, in which case you’ll need to confirm they are the same
The system should then begin the pairing process
For 2022 Chevy Suburbans, the process by which to connect via Bluetooth is as follows:
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and make sure Bluetooth is enabled
Touch the phone icon on your vehicle’s Home Page
Touch “Manage Phones” to display the “Phones” screen
Follow the on-screen prompts to start the pairing process. It will also display a 6-digit code that you’ll need later
Select “Pair a new device” or look under “Available devices” on your phone to locate the device named “Your Vehicle” or “SYNC” and select it
Enter or confirm the 6-digit code from step 5 and then select “Pair.” The system will then complete the pairing process
Hopefully, one of these will be helpful.
