How do you change the time on a 2003 Honda Civic?

I recently bought an old Honda Civic. After driving a 2016 Prius, I am a little stumped about some of these settings and controls. The clock settings seem to be the least intuitive thing in this car. How can I change the time on my Civic?

The transition from driving a newer vehicle to an older one is always tricky! But don’t worry, I’m happy to help you change the time on a 2003 Honda Civic.
As counterintuitive as it may seem, it is actually quite easy if you know how. Here’s what to do:
  1. Put your car in park and access your vehicle’s accessory mode. Essentially, you will be shutting off the engine without shutting the car off completely.
  2. Press and hold the SCAN/RPT button.
  3. Use the number 4 and 5 buttons to alter the hours and minutes without releasing the SCAN/RPT button.
  4. When your time is properly set, you may release the SCAN/RPT button.
Since you’ve made the switch to an older used car, you should take some time to review your
car insurance
. You could be overpaying on your premium by hundreds of dollars!
If you’re hesitant to switch plans or insurance providers because you’re worried about the work involved, don’t be. The
