How do you change the oil on a 2012 Ford Focus?

I’m pretty handy with cars, so I’m helping out my sister with hers. I need to do an oil change, but I’ve never done one on this make and model. How do you change the oil on a 2012 Ford Focus?

To change the oil on a

2012 Ford Focus

, just follow these steps:

Run the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off

Open the hood and remove the oil cap

Place a drain pan under the drainage bolt, then remove the drainage bolt

Let the oil drain out into the drain pan

Once all the oil has drained, remove the oil filter

Apply a thin film of oil on the new oil filter and attach it in place

Reattach the drainage bolt

Using a funnel in the spot you removed the oil cap from, pour in about 4 quarts of oil

Use the dipstick to check the fill level is between the two holes and add more oil if needed
