While changing the battery in your keyfob can be a tricky process, it gets a lot easier with a little practice! Here’s how to change the battery in your Honda Civic key fob:
First, you’ll need to remove the metal key in the fob. Some models will have a key release button, but others will be secured with a screw, which you’ll need to remove.
Once you’ve removed the key, use a flathead screwdriver to pop open the back of the key fob.
Press your thumb down on the area around the battery to make sure all the parts stay together.
Using your free hand, remove the old battery and replace it with a new battery. You can find the recommended battery type in your owner’s manual.
Once your new battery is in place, slip on the back of the keyfob and reattach the metal key.
