How do you change a Honda Civic battery?
What’s the easiest way to replace my Civic battery? I don’t have the money to take my car to a shop, especially since Christmas is coming up. But it’s been difficult to start lately, so I think it needs a new battery.

Changing your battery yourself is a great way to save money! Here’s how to change a
Honda Civic
battery. Note that this advice is for informational purposes and should not replace the advice of an automobile expert.- Park your car on level ground, turn the engine off, and engage the parking brake.
- Open the hoodand locate your battery.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. It should be marked with a – symbol.
- Then, disconnect the positive battery terminal. It should be marked with a + symbol.
- Next, remove the bracket that holds your battery in place. You may need to undo a bolt or two in order to do this.
- Carefully lift the old battery out of your car and place it in two thick trash bags.
- Place the new battery in the battery tray and attach the battery bracket.
- Connect the positive battery terminal first, then connect the negative battery terminal.
- Dispose of your old battery at a hazardous chemical pickup/dropoff site.
Congratulations! You’ve just changed your car battery yourself.
