You can buy a BMW extended warranty from the BMW dealership where you bought your car. But first, you need to find out if your warranty is expired or not.
You should have received information about your warranty’s expiration from BMW, but if you haven’t seen it or you lost it, you can contact the BMW Genius Hotline at 1-844-4GENIUS to ask if it’s still effective or not.
If your warranty is expired, though, you’ll be ineligible to buy a BMW extended warranty. In that case, to get an extended warranty, you’ll need to purchase one from a third-party provider.
If you’re eligible for a BMW extended warranty, you can choose from one of their three plans:
The BMW Platinum Warranty covers all the major components of your vehicle as most warranties do, plus your car’s navigation, entertainment, and audio systems. It also provides some coverage for your car’s interior and exterior.
The BMW Gold Warranty is similar to the Platinum Warranty, except its coverage of electrical systems is limited and it does not cover the car’s entertainment system.
BMW Powertrain Plus Warranty is the most limited warranty plan. It covers your vehicle’s powertrain and offers limited coverage for a few other components, including the engine, transmission, drive axle, and fuel system.
Another option to consider is mechanical breakdown insurance
, which is a car insurance coverage type that can be added on to your regular car insurance
. You can find out more about it, plus find great savings on your car coverage, by downloading the Jerry
