Attach the pump hose to the low-pressure port of the refrigerant gauge.
Screw the AC vacuum pump to the middle valve of the refrigerant gauge manifold set and wait for it to reach 27 Hg. This should take at least 30 minutes.
When your pump has reached 27 Hg, close the valve that goes to the gauge and turn off the pump.
Let the pump sit for 30 minutes, then check to see if the vacuum is still at 27 Hg. If your level has fallen, this means that your system has a leak and you should repair it before continuing.
If you’re still at 27 Hg, disconnect the pump hose from the pump and attach a can of refrigerant.
Start your car and turn on the AC.
Slowly open the low-pressure manifold and let the refrigerant flow into the AC system.
