How do I unlock the steering wheel on a Honda Accord?

I pulled on the steering wheel when I got out of my car. Fast-forward to the next day and my steering wheel is locked. I can’t seem to get it unlocked and my key won’t turn. What’s the easiest way to unlock the steering wheel on a Honda Accord?

On the Honda Accord and most other types of vehicles, the steering wheel lock is a precautionary measure when you’re parked on an incline or decline. Luckily, unlocking the steering wheel on your car is easy.
To unlock the steering wheel on a Honda Accord, follow these steps:
  • Pull down on the wheel in the same direction as when you locked it. Since you said you locked it when exiting the vehicle, pull down to the left.
  • While holding your wheel down to the left, put your key into the ignition and try to turn it. Hopefully, this works.
  • If it doesn’t work, turn the wheel in the other direction and try again.
  • Repeat this process back and forth until the steering wheel unlocks.
