How do I transfer a Toyota Platinum warranty?

I know that you can reuse engine oil, but what kind of filters do you need to purify it?

I bought a used car from one of my friends’ coworkers. It was a great deal and the market has been so bad for used cars that I didn’t think I’d get a better price anywhere else. I’m tight on money, so I’m wary of taking my car to a dealership for maintenance, but I also don’t have a good relationship with mechanics. Should I take my car to a dealership for maintenance?

"I currently carry the state minimums in California. I own a house, but don't have any other assets. Should I raise my coverage limits? Is there a better amount to carry?"
