My car broke down in my driveway. It won't start at all and I need to tow it. I don't really want to spend $100 on a tow truck. How do I tow a car for cheap?

If your insurance policy includes towing coverage or you have a roadside assistance membership, the tow will be free. To tow your car for cheap, you can:

Use the

on your

policy. You may have to pay out-of-pocket for the tow and be reimbursed later

Use your roadside assistance membership, like an

. Most companies have a waiting period for memberships to start, so unfortunately you can’t purchase a membership and then immediately request a free tow

Call a friend who has roadside assistance. Many of these programs allow the member to use their services on anyone’s car, so long as the member is present
