Will the hospital tell my insurance company about my car accident?

I suffered some injuries in a car accident and went to a hospital for treatment. While I was there, the staff made copies of my auto insurance ID. Does this mean the hospital will notify my insurance company about the accident?

Yes, any injuries sustained during a car accident will be reported to your auto insurance company first for the medical bills to be paid. Anything above and beyond what your auto insurance company covers will be covered by your primary health insurance.
