How do I reset the oil life sensor in a 2013 Acura ILX?

I recently changed the engine oil in my 2013 Acura ILX, but I wasn’t aware I also needed to reset the oil life sensor, too! How do I do this in my car?

Completing your
2013 Acura ILX
’s oil reset is definitely important, as it’ll let you know when you’re in need of your next oil change. To reset your Acura’s oil life, here’s what to do:
  • Start by turning on your vehicle. Be sure to keep the power mode in the “on” position while resetting the oil life!
  • Using the up and down controls on the right-hand side of your steering wheel, navigate to and select customize settings
  • From there, navigate to and select the option called maintenance info
  • On your display, a screen that says “oil life reset” should appear—use your up arrow to select reset
And that’s all there is to it! To be sure you’ve correctly reset your oil life, navigate back out to the main menu and exit your vehicle settings. The display should automatically update your oil life to 100%!
