How do I replace the Honda Civic taillight assembly?
I busted a taillight while backing up in my 2007 Honda Civic LX. I already got a replacement, but how do I install it?

taillight assembly can be completed in a matter of minutes with a little patience and the right tools. Here’s how it’s done.- Unscrew the taillight bolts in the quarter panel. To do so, you’ll need to remove the carpeting in the trunk directly behind the taillight. This will expose four 8-mm bolts. Use a socket wrench to remove them.
- Disconnect the gray wiring harness by pushing down on the plastic tab and pulling it out. This will disconnect all power flow to the old taillight assembly.
- Remove the broken taillight assembly by gently pushing it out of its slot in the quarter panel. Set the old assembly aside and get the new light ready.
- Install the new taillight assembly by aligning it with the bolt holes. Reinstall the four 8-mm bolts using the socket wrench.
- Reconnect the gray wiring harness to the power connector on the back of the taillight. Replace the carpeting in the trunk.
