automatic shift knob, with the whole process taking under 30 minutes. Here’s how you do it:
Shut off your vehicle and place the transmission selector in neutral. Make sure to engage the parking brake as well.
Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the plastic cover surrounding the shift knob. Once you remove this, the screws to remove the knob will be visible.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws and pull up the shift knob. It may take some jiggling to loosen.
Place the new shift knob in place of the old one. Make sure the button to unlock the shifter is facing towards the dashboard.
Reinsert the two screws you removed and tighten them into place. Replace the plastic cover and snap it into place.
Just like that, you’ve replaced the worn-out shift lever on your Honda Accord.
