How do I repair sun-damaged car paint?
Is there an easy way to repair sun-damaged car paint? I didn’t have a garage for several years, so my car sat in the sun almost all the time. Now the paint’s all faded.

“Faded paint can be really frustrating. But you can repair sun-damaged car paint yourself if it isn’t too major.
To do so, pick up some rubbing compound (like Turtle Wax) from your local auto parts store. It will help restore the color of your paint and the luster of its finish.
Before you apply it, first wash your car, then wipe it clean. After that, take care to apply the rubbing compound anywhere with sun damage and buff it out with a buffing pad until there is no residue.
Once you’ve done this, it’s a good idea to go ahead and use a thin coat of the compound on the rest of your car, too. Then, wash the vehicle one more time and check to make sure you didn’t miss any spots.
If this process doesn’t work or if you’d rather not DIY, consider taking your car to a professional to be
repainted
