How do I remove the windshield wiper arm on my Ford F-150?
It’s starting to rain more in my area, and I need to service my wipers so I can see clearly. What’s the easiest way to remove the windshield wiper arm on an F-150?
with your vehicle so it’s safe to drive in the rain!
Removing a windshield wiper arm on a Ford F-150 is easy—just follow these three steps:
Raise the arm to its service position, away from the base of your windshield. Make sure you raise it straight toward you to avoid bending the arm or causing other damage to the wiper mechanism.
Locate the hinge that connects the wiper arm to your vehicle. It should be near the pivoting mechanism.
Pry the tab on the hinge with a screwdriver to loosen the wiper arm so you can pull it out. You may need to jiggle the arm before it loosens enough for you to remove it completely.
After you remove the arm, you can replace it with a properly-fitted wiper arm. Then, the rain should be much less of a problem!
