How do I remove my Tesla charger?
This feels like such a silly question, but I finally got a Tesla after years of saving up, and I’m all set up for it—except that I plugged it in to charge it, and now I can’t unplug it! Please help! How can I remove my Tesla charger from my car?

That is not a silly question at all, and it makes sense that you’d be confused! However, I’m happy to say that you can remove your Tesla charger in two easy steps with both your car and your dignity intact. Here’s what to do:
- Unlock the charge port. This may seem like a no-brainer upon reading it but the connector is designed to lock when your Tesla is charging so that no one can just walk up and unplug it.
- Press the charge connector button. Hold the button on the connector down for two to three seconds, or until you see the LED on the charge port turn white. This indicates that the charger is safe to unplug, and you can go right ahead and do so.
