How do I open a Honda Accord key fob?

This is so annoying! The battery in the key fob for my Honda Accord has been dead for weeks, but I can’t replace it because I have no idea how to open it. Is there any way to actually open the key fob for one of these!

It can be a bit confusing unless you know exactly what to do. Here’s how to open a

key fob:

Find the small release switch on top of the fob

Slide down the switch and remove the metal key blade

Place the tip of the key blade into the slot at the top of the fob—it should wedge in snuggly

Gently twist the key and the fob should pop open

And that’s all there is to it! Once you’ve got your fob open, you should be able to change the battery without any trouble. The whole process is easy, free, and only takes a few minutes—just like saving money on your
