How do I obtain my driving record in Texas?

I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, and I’ve recently decided I really want to start seeing what I can do to clean up my record, but I’m not sure what’s still listed on it. How do I get a copy of my Texas driving record?

Texas makes it really easy for drivers to get a copy of their driving records. The simplest way to access your record is to order an online copy from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) website. You’ll need to be sure you have the following information:
  • Driver license number
  • Date of birth
  • Last four digits of your Social Security number
  • Audit number (printed on license)
Once you’re logged in, you can select the type of record you want, enter your payment information, and print your record. If you don’t have access to a printer, you’ll need to fill out a Driver Record Request Form and mail it to the Texas DPS.
Taking the time to clean up and maintain a clean driving record is a great way to lower your
