Attempting anything with a new vehicle can be nerve-wracking, so it makes sense you wouldn’t want to drill holes in it!
If you want to mount your truck toolbox without drilling holes, check your truck
for pre-drilled holes. Most new trucks come with pre-drilled holes for this purpose. Simply look for rubber plugs near the front of your flatbed.
To mount the toolbox, remove the rubber plugs. Then, place the toolbox in the proper location; the pre-drilled holes should align with the holes in the toolbox.
Most toolboxes come with the hardware to mount the box. If it doesn’t, you can use J-hooks or nuts and bolts. If you need to purchase the hardware, most toolboxes require four to six bolts. Once installed, tighten the bolts or hardware. Avoid over-tightening them as they can damage your truck.
If you don’t have pre-drilled holes in your truck, search for toolboxes or kits that don’t require any drilling. If you can’t find something that fits your truck, you can always reach out to an expert who may be able to install the toolbox for you without damaging your new truck.
