My mom’s CDs are all over the backseat of her car—it drives me nuts! I want to make her a CD holder, one of the ones that can fit over the visor. How can I do that?

That’s a great gift idea! To make a CD holder, you’ll need some fabric, ribbon, and a sewing machine. If you’re not particularly crafty you can use some duct tape, a piece of cardboard, and a **stapler.
Step 1: Cut two 15-inch by 6-inch pieces of fabric.
Step 2: Cut ten 4-inch by 6-inch strips of fabric, folding and sewing half an inch on one long edge of each to make a seam.
Step 3: Space the 4-inch strips on one of the 15-inch pieces of fabric with a CD. Starting with the top-most strip, pin and sew the strips like a pocket with the seam side left open.
Step 4: Flip over and sew the other 15-inch piece
Step 5: Fold and sew a one-inch strip of fabric over the outside edge for a border, then sew the ribbons one inch down from each corner so you can tie the holder to the visor.
To make a CD holder using duct tape:
Step 1: Cover a 15-inch by 6-inch piece of cardboard with duct tape.
Step 2: Make ten 4-inch by 6-inch rectangles of duct tape. Use a CD to arrange them across the cardboard. Tape along the bottom and sides of each to create a pocket.
Step 3: Staple the ribbon one inch down from each corner and secure with more tape so you can tie the holder onto the visor.
